Small Point Bed and Breakfast
Our location speaks volumes for the quaint, quiet, peaceful magic of Mackinac Island. Our large rap-around porch provides an unobstructed view of the Eastern Straits of Mackinac. The house was built in 1882 as a summer Gothic Victorian Cottage. We strive to provide that relaxing environment. Enjoy a bike ride around the Island, a carriage tour, a book on the porch. During the summer, the sun rises directly in front of the house. There is nothing like a hot coffee or tea and a great scone to start the day. Breakfast is included with your reservation. We are known for our breakfasts.
Small Point is a classic example of Gothic Victorian architecture featuring eight unique guest rooms, some with multiple beds to accommodate a family of three to four. Be sure to inform us of the number of individuals in your party, including small children and infants when making your reservation. As was typical of cottages of the times, most of our rooms have shared access to the bathrooms.
Our favorite activity at Small Point Bed and Breakfast is time spent relaxing on the porch. There are no televisions or telephones in the bedrooms and you won't even miss them. The Island has many wonders to enjoy. Choose from biking, hiking, shopping, golfing or dining and dancing. Feel free to join us in the parlor, play a board game, or work on a jigsaw puzzle. The island and house are your escape. Enjoy it however you wish.
Small Point is generally open from Memorial Day to the end of October. Please call to confirm the exact opening and closing date, as this will vary from year to year. Our owners, Brian and Christina Findley, take reservations for returning guests up to a year in advance. New guests may reserve 11 months in advance. There is availability throughout the summer and fall, but inquire quickly because it does sell out! Our favorite season is fall with the extraordinary color display and the occasional sighting of the Northern Lights.
